Sometimes inspiration comes in the most unlikely of places. Raising a family in London, Patty spent winter school holidays skiing in Europe, keeping track of mittens with military precision while hoping to sneak in a few runs off piste. It was there that she became enchanted by the grand European tradition of style with purpose.
Upon returning to the States, Patty took up a pen and, with trepidation, designed a fur vest that would keep her warm on the slopes (and chasing mittens fallen from chair lifts), but still look chic and elegant après ski. That vest led to the design of more pieces, and then designing bespoke furs for clients, all of whom live life with a purpose. For some it is timeless simplicity fit for a ballgown, for others it is a field vest tailored for bird hunting, and for others it is a reversible that takes her elegantly from rainstorm to boardroom to closing dinner.
From this effort Chasseur NYC was born… a small, woman-owned, luxury business, handcrafting fur garments in New York City.
The unique nature of each piece means that Chasseur’s capacity is intentionally limited. However, the design process for Patty and her clients is as much fun as the joy of wearing the final product.
