Designed in Texas and hand-woven in Ecuador, Cappello hats are created using a centuries-old tradition of weaving Toquilla straw from the Carludovica Palmata, a plant that is native to Central America. The leaves are thinly cut by hand and are then boiled, bleached and dried so the artisans can begin the weaving process - which takes 10-12 hours to complete.
Our exclusive Cappello hat is a unique mint color and features a tonal mint grosgrain ribbon at the base of the crown. The fedora-style hat is flexible and durable during wear thanks to the quality of the tightly woven straw.
Toquilla straw is weather resistant and provides natural UV protection. Because of the natural fibers, the custom-dyed colors will transform and change slightly over time. Due to the handwoven pattern and the natural dye, each hat is considered one of a kind.
