She purchased it at Chanel’s 57th Street boutique in New York and remembers loving it for years. “This was my very first Chanel piece of clothing, and I loved it to infinity,” she says. After moving to Dallas, however, her relationship with conspicuous designer signatures changed, and the jacket went largely unworn for more than a decade. “I stopped wanting anything with very noticeable signage,” she explains.
