This coral jersey gown features a softly draped column silhouette with a ruched bandeau bodice and a crystal-encrusted halter strap that twists into an elegant figure-eight neckline. "Victoria Royal Ltd. is one of my favorite lesser-known labels from the '60s and '70s," says Lily, noting that the house's beautifully beaded silk chiffon gowns were among Happy Isles' best-selling vintage finds. This sherbet-hued jersey version offered a playful departure. "It's such a fun example of a decade-specific piece," she says. "It was even pulled for a fitting for Palm Royale, but it still hasn't had her day. Hopefully she really gets her moment in the sun on The SIL."

Founded in the early 1960s by Oscar J. Montalto and George Sealove, Victoria Royal Ltd. specialized in glamorous cocktail and eveningwear distinguished by intricate hand embellishment and luxurious fabrics. Produced in Hong Kong for the American market, the label became known for its richly beaded gowns, elegant silhouettes, and couture-inspired craftsmanship at a time when Hong Kong manufacturing was gaining an international reputation for exceptional quality. Though the label is no longer in production, Victoria Royal remains highly regarded by vintage collectors for its beautifully made occasionwear.
