About the Item:

This ivory sleeveless dress by Teal Traina pairs crisp cotton piqué with wide bands of floral guipure lace, creating a polished silhouette that's equal parts feminine and architectural. Lily was immediately drawn to its timeless elegance and impeccable construction—hallmarks of the celebrated American label. "It's just one of those dresses that never goes out of style," she says. "It's beautifully made, and you can imagine wearing it for decades." This ivory sleeveless dress recalls a Teal Traina design worn by Veruschka in a Henry Clarke photograph published in Vogue's December 1, 1964 issue.

About the Label:

Teal Traina was one of New York's most influential mid-century fashion houses. Founded by Teal Traina—the nephew of Anthony Traina, co-founder of the legendary Traina-Norell label—the house earned a reputation for impeccable craftsmanship and an extraordinary eye for design talent. Geoffrey Beene served as head designer from 1958 to 1963 before launching his own label, while future American fashion luminaries including Chester Weinberg, Kay Unger, and Dominic Rompallo also designed under the Traina umbrella.
