About the Item:

“It has this very refined silhouette, but then the embroidery makes it feel playful,” Jenny says of this charming beaded drawstring bag, gifted to her by Federica Formilli Fendi during a visit to her extraordinary Roman vintage boutique, Triplef. Jenny still remembers trying to find the hidden shop, tucked away on a quiet Roman side street and filled with incredible vintage fashion and interiors. “You’d go down these stairs and once you went in, it was this gorgeous artist home turned into this incredible vintage store,” she recalls. Though the silhouette references prim postwar evening bags, the folk-inspired embroidery and playful beading give it a more bohemian, collected feel. Jenny later carried it to a ballet at La Scala in Milan, which “felt like exactly the right place for it.”

About the Label:

Founded in Paris in 1988 by French sisters Marion Godart and Martine Manardo, Marion Godart became known for playful, artful accessories that blended Parisian polish with a more eclectic, handmade spirit. Working primarily in resin, beads, and costume materials, the label embraced bold color, folk references, and sculptural forms—often creating pieces that felt somewhere between jewelry, fashion, and objets d’art. Though the brand’s most recognizable designs are its exuberant costume jewels, Marion Godart’s bags and accessories share the same whimsical sensibility. The result is a kind of distinctly French eccentricity: refined silhouettes made charmingly unexpected through color, texture, and embellishment.
