With its ivory satin exterior, soft peach lining, delicate lace trim, and intricate beaded embellishments, this vintage bridal hat has all the romance of a 1920s cloche with the playful silhouette of a bucket hat. The piece came into milliner Gigi Burris's collection through a friend who had inherited a selection of hats from an unnamed celebrity. “I love the idea of lace on a bucket hat. It feels really evening with something that feels a little more casual,” says Burris. “There's a '20s spirit to this hat that's super unique.” She imagines the hat on a fashion-forward bride, perhaps for a wedding-related celebration, or styled into an unexpected contemporary look. Nearly entirely handmade, the piece retains its distinctive East Angel Harbor Hats label, another detail Burris particularly admires.

Founded online in 2002 by milliner Darna Michie, East Angel Harbor Hats is an independent American millinery business based in the Pacific Northwest. Specializing in romantic, historically inspired headwear, the label draws heavily on Victorian and Edwardian fashion, as well as the cloche hats of the 1920s. Each design is handmade to order, often incorporating luxurious silks, antique-inspired lace, feathers, and elaborate floral trims. Working from her own studio, Michie champions traditional millinery techniques and the individuality of handcrafted hats, creating pieces for weddings, garden parties, and other special occasions.
