Label: Tuleh

Era: 2010s

About the Item:

"I was crazy for Tuleh," Sue recalls of the cult New York label founded by Bryan Bradley and Josh Patner. She first discovered the brand through intimate apartment trunk shows in the early 2000s, before it became a fixture of the New York fashion scene. "I loved that they weren't making very many pieces, so it wasn't like you were going to see them everywhere," she says. Cut in a classic black-and-white plaid with a softly tailored silhouette, this timeless trench conceals a playful surprise: a silk lobster-print lining that speaks to Tuleh's wit and impeccable attention to detail. "The clothes fit so well. I thought the fabrics were really, really beautiful."

About the Label:

Founded in New York in 1997 by Bryan Bradley and Josh Patner, Tuleh became one of the defining American fashion labels of the 2000s. Revered for its exquisite tailoring, luxurious fabrics, and modern take on classic femininity, the brand attracted a devoted following among society women, fashion insiders, and cultural tastemakers. Its runway shows drew front rows filled with Vogue editors, New York's social set, and celebrities of the era, while its designs were worn by everyone from members of the Gossip Girl cast to some of the decade's best-dressed women. Though the label closed in 2010, Tuleh remains one of New York fashion's great cult houses.
