Custom-made by Dennis Basso, this elegant evening dress is embroidered with an intricate mix of crystals, sequins, bugle beads, and metallic embellishments over a black base. A scooped neckline, slim silhouette, and sheer silk hem balance the richness of the handwork with an airy sense of movement. Sue commissioned the dress for a Lincoln Center Theater Gala, recalling, "I thought that this was a very grownup dress. It made me feel very ladylike, elegant and very, very feminine." A beautiful example of Basso's couture craftsmanship, it was designed to fit her perfectly and shine under evening lights.
