Label: Robert Courtney

Era:  1960s

About the Item:

A 1960s Robert Courtney midi dress in a bright green linen-like fabric. The dress has a simple fitted silhouette with a V-neckline, elbow-length sleeves, and a straight skirt. A wide self-tie belt gathers at the waist and can be tied in the front or to the side. Lightweight and easy to wear, it’s a great warm-weather dress and the bright green feels particularly fresh.

About the Label:

Robert Courtney was a Texas-born designer who studied geology at the University of Texas and served in Italy with the U.S. Army during World War II before moving to California. He initially worked for Capitol Records, then entered fashion and became vice president of Charles Cooper, a prominent California couture house. After Cooper's death, Courtney established his own Los Angeles fashion company with Eileen and Ken Leigh.
