Label: R13

Era: 2010s

Size: Medium

About the Item:

R13’s Deconstructed Slip Dress, cut from ivory silk satin scattered with delicate rose bouquets and finished with lace trim, adjustable double straps, and deliberately undone details. Sections of lace fall loose from the neckline and hem, giving the otherwise romantic, lingerie-inspired silhouette R13’s signature grunge edge. Joanna bought it at V.O.D. Boutique in Dallas and styled the revealing slip with a cropped denim jacket. “It’s a very open dress, so I would put it with a denim jacket,” she says. “I think I wore it twice—once in Dallas and once in the Hamptons.”

About the Label:

R13 was founded in New York in 2009 by Chris Leba, following his long tenure at Ralph Lauren. Leba initially kept his identity as the designer behind R13 private, revealing himself publicly with the label’s first runway show in 2016. Rooted in the visual language of American punk and grunge, R13 has built its reputation on distressed denim, oversized proportions, deconstructed tailoring, and subversive takes on classic American wardrobe staples.
