About the Item:

"I was looking for something to wear to the New Museum Gala," Sue recalls. A longtime New Museum trustee, she commissioned New York designers Ronald and Rony Delice of Ron & Ron to create a series of one-of-a-kind dresses for the evening, which honored artist Ed Ruscha. "I think what they did was they made me two or three dresses for that one gala, and then I picked which one I wanted to wear," she says. This dress features Ruscha's iconic Cold Beer Beautiful Girls text painting. 

About the Label:

Founded in New York in 1998, Ron & Ron was the luxury menswear label of Haitian-born twin brothers Ronald and Rony Delice. Renowned for tailoring, bold color combinations, and unexpected details, the duo dressed clients ranging from Will Smith and Samuel L. Jackson to Shaquille O'Neal and Michael Jordan. While best known for sharply tailored menswear, they also accepted select custom commissions, bringing their distinctive design sensibility to one-of-a-kind pieces like this dress.
