Joanna bought these transparent Amina Muaddi heels during the designer’s meteoric rise, and wore them just once: to the London launch of her skincare line. She paired them with a silver Oscar de la Renta skirt covered in sequined leaves and an ivory cashmere sweater with the sleeves pushed up. Against such a statement skirt, the barely-there shoes served a very specific purpose. “I wanted something clear that wouldn’t compete with the rest of the look,” Joanna says. “It was basically like being barefoot—just a little taller.” The transparent upper is set on Muaddi’s instantly recognizable flared heel, giving the otherwise minimal shoe its sculptural finish.
