About the Item:

"The only thing I love as much as art is fashion," Sue says. After getting to know Lisa Perry while living in SoHo, Sue would often stop by the designer's West Broadway studio to see her latest art-inspired collections. Crafted in black and white wool, this graphic shift dress features the words LOVE ART emblazoned across the front in bold lettering in leather—a playful expression of the Pop Art influences that defined Perry's work. "I've worked in the art world for 35 years," Sue says. "I always feel like it's an homage to the industry to wear something that has to do with art." She wore the dress to a New Museum event during her years as a museum trustee.

About the Label:

Launched in 2006, Lisa Perry became known for her bold, 1960s-inspired shift dresses and Pop Art-infused aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from artists including Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Robert Indiana, Perry transformed clean, graphic silhouettes into wearable works of art that quickly became favorites among collectors, creatives, and the New York art world. Today, Perry has turned her focus to Onna House, her East Hampton exhibition space dedicated to championing women artists and designers, continuing the close dialogue between art and design that has long defined her work.
