Spring 2006 Chanel Navy Tweed Jacket
From the Closet of: Joanna Czech
Label: Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld
Era: Spring 2006
Size: 38 / Small/Medium
About the Item:
From Chanel’s Spring 2006 ready-to-wear collection, this navy jacket has particular significance in Joanna’s wardrobe: it was the first piece of Chanel clothing she ever bought. She purchased it at Chanel’s 57th Street boutique in New York and remembers loving it for years. “This was my very first Chanel piece of clothing, and I loved it to infinity,” she says. After moving to Dallas, however, her relationship with conspicuous designer signatures changed, and the jacket went largely unworn for more than a decade. “I stopped wanting anything with very noticeable signage,” she explains. The result is a particularly well-preserved piece from Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel—and one with more than 20 years of history in Joanna’s closet.
