“I love the cropped length of this jacket and the different gradations of the fur—and then it is Biba, so I thought that was very cool,” Dee says, referring to the cult London label. Dating to the 1970s, the fox fur jacket blends Biba’s long-and-lean silhouette with a clear 1940s influence—structured shoulders, a slim body, wide sleeves, and a neat collar. Natural pelts in brown, red, and white create subtle striped lines across the surface, while hidden pockets, a swing-style cut, silky taupe rayon lining, discreet fur hooks, and the presence of both the Biba label and original item-number tag mark it as a rare and highly collectible piece.

About the Label:

Founded in London in the early 1960s by Barbara Hulanicki, Biba reshaped fashion by looking backward instead of forward—drawing on 1930s and 1940s silhouettes, Pre-Raphaelite romanticism, and Art Deco glamour at a time when modernity was defined by futurism. Its long-and-lean cuts, moody, “bruised” color palette, and nostalgic references offered a radical alternative to the sharp minimalism of the moment, helping define the visual language of Swinging London.
