Bottega Veneta’s cult Puddle boot debuted under Daniel Lee for Fall 2020, its exaggerated rounded shape molded in one piece from a lightweight, biodegradable rubber made partly from renewable, plant-based materials

The style was produced in a spectrum of colors, but Joanna chose this translucent “Glass” version after already collecting several others.

“I have at least three or four other colors of those rubber boots,” she says. “Then I realized that I could have just this one pair and change the color of the socks. And then I would have all different colors.”

The experiment did require some trial and error. Her verdict: “I don’t recommend wearing it without any sock because it doesn’t look attractive.” Still, she says, “I love them. They are very comfortable.”

Founded in Madrid in 1846, Loewe began as a collective of leather artisans and remains one of Spain’s oldest luxury houses. Acquired by LVMH in 1996, the house appointed Jonathan Anderson creative director in 2013. Under Anderson, Loewe became known for an artful, often surreal approach to luxury, balancing its longstanding emphasis on craftsmanship with experimentation in form, material, and proportion.
