’70s PLW Coat and Dress Set
Label: PLW
Era: 1970s
Size: S/M
About the Garment:
"I definitely remember bringing this piece down from Connecticut to Florida because I thought it would be perfect for Miami,” Dee says. “I have an affinity towards matching sets. The dress on its own is so super chic—but it’s always fun to have a matching jacket.” By PLW, the sleeveless dress and matching longline jacket feel as if they’ve stepped straight out of a Slim Aarons photograph—sunlit, graphic, and made for warm-weather glamour. The yellow-and-white print reads boldly when worn together, yet each piece works just as well on its own.
About the Label:
PLW was a youthful, fashion-forward offshoot of Gay Gibson, one of the most prolific American ready-to-wear houses to emerge from Kansas City’s mid-century garment industry. Launched in the 1960s to capture a new generation of women, the label distilled modern ease and contemporary silhouettes into accessible, polished designs.
