A blue-and-white striped cotton button-down from the original Scott Sternberg-era Band of Outsiders, with the label’s signature slim, slightly shrunken proportions, a button-down collar, chest pocket, and contrast horizontal stripes at the cuffs. Joanna bought it well before the pandemic and remembers being particularly drawn to its fit: “I loved the cut of this shirt.” 

About the Label:

Scott Sternberg founded Band of Outsiders in Los Angeles in 2004, building a cult following with his irreverent take on American prep: Oxford shirts, schoolboy blazers, ties, and chinos recut with slimmer, quirkier proportions. Womenswear followed, and the label became a fashion-world favorite before Sternberg departed and the original company ceased production in 2015. This shirt comes from that original era—making it a piece of a now-defunct cult label.
