About the Item:

"I was looking for something to wear to the New Museum Gala, where we were honoring Ed Ruscha," Sue recalls. A longtime New Museum trustee, she turned to New York designers Ronald and Rony Delice of Ron & Ron to create a custom dress for the occasion. "They loved designing clothes for me," she says. Inspired by Ruscha's iconic Texas Hairspray painting, the one-of-a-kind design was a fitting tribute to the artist being honored.

About the Label:

Founded in New York in 1998, Ron & Ron was the luxury menswear label of Haitian-born twin brothers Ronald and Rony Delice. Renowned for tailoring, bold color combinations, and unexpected details, the duo dressed clients ranging from Will Smith and Samuel L. Jackson to Shaquille O'Neal and Michael Jordan. While best known for sharply tailored menswear, they also accepted select custom commissions, bringing their distinctive design sensibility to one-of-a-kind pieces like this dress.
