A pair of cream-and-navy striped Péro pants, handmade in India from a lightweight silk-and-cotton blend. Cut with an easy wide leg and drawstring waist, they have the relaxed, slightly handcrafted quality for which the label is known. Joanna bought them at Tiina the Store in Amagansett while spending the summer working in the Hamptons, at least eight years ago. “I wore them then and there,” she remembers, though after that summer they largely disappeared from her rotation. 

Péro was founded in 2009 by Indian designer Aneeth Arora, whose collections draw on traditional Indian textiles and craft techniques. The name means “to wear” in Marwari, the local language of Rajasthan. Known for its beautifully tactile fabrics and hand-finished details, the label works with artisans across India to reinterpret regional weaving, embroidery, and textile traditions through an easy, contemporary wardrobe.
