An airy R13 mohair-blend sweater with an almost cobweb-like open knit and an abstract sweep of black, red, cream, pale blue, pink, and mint. The irregular blocks of color and mismatched sleeves give the classic crewneck an artfully undone quality—a signature of R13’s off-kilter approach to American staples. Joanna is a longtime fan of the label and considers herself “quite a collector” of R13. Her relationship with the brand began in Dallas, where neighboring VOD Boutique first introduced her to it. Years later, she opened her New York studio directly above R13’s store. “I think R13 is my destiny,” she says with a laugh.
