c. 1960s Walborg Beaded Clutch
From the Closet of: Jenny Walton
Label: Walborg
Era: c. 1960s
About the Item:
“It’s one of those little very tiny things that really dresses up a look,” Jenny says of this intricately beaded Walborg pouch, which she sourced online while living in New York. She was especially drawn to the scrolling ivory beadwork, which reminded her of “brain coral” and the ornate facades of Parisian architecture. Tiny enough to disappear into a suitcase, it became one of her favorite travel accessories, accompanying her on trips to Santa Margherita and Portofino—where it proved perfect for an impromptu glamorous dinner at the Belmond Hotel. Jenny loves that bags like this can instantly elevate even the simplest outfit, especially in summer when “you really don’t need that much.” Ladylike yet unfussy, it feels destined for linen dresses, seaside aperitivos, and candlelit hotel terraces.
