About the Item:

A little flamenco flair meets 1960s evening glamour in this black Mel Warshaw cocktail dress. The sleeveless design features a simple, fitted bodice with a high, rounded neckline, giving way to a wonderfully dramatic skirt composed of cascading tiers of finely pleated, sheer ruffles. Each tier is finished with a delicate, curled edge, creating beautiful texture and movement. The contrast between the understated bodice and exuberant skirt makes this an especially charming party dress—just add a pair of strappy heels and statement earrings.

About the Label:

Founded by designer Melvin Barry Warshaw, Mel Warshaw was a Miami-based fashion house known for its colorful dresses and women's occasionwear. Active by the 1940s, Warshaw built a successful apparel business that included the Miss Jane of Miami, Jay Originals, and Trend-Setter labels. During the 1960s, he collaborated with designer Ruth Ann Menutis, whose collections became so successful that he established a dedicated division, More by Ruth Ann. His designs ranged from playful, brightly patterned day dresses to elaborate cocktail and eveningwear, reflecting Miami's vibrant fashion scene during the mid-20th century.
