This pale yellow sleeveless mini dress is trimmed with rows of ivory passementerie braid accented by sparkling rhinestones. Lily considers it another wonderful example of Victoria Royal Ltd.'s craftsmanship. "This is another really good example of just how good the embellishments can be on these pieces from the '60s," she says. She loved the dress so much that she had it altered in hopes of finally wearing it herself. "Had I had this dress in college, I would've worn it constantly. It's just not quite my style now," she says. Originally cut below the knee, the dress had some damage along the hem, so she shortened it into a mini. "I made it a mini in hopes that if I did that, there would be some place for me to wear it and I would feel inspired to wear it." Though it remained tucked away in her closet, she could never quite bring herself to part with it. "I just felt emotionally tied to this one. I wanted to give it a shot for me to wear. But the occasion never arose," she says. "So hopefully she really gets her moment in the sun on The SIL."
