Isabel Marant’s Ecksa sandals give the humble flip-flop a decidedly more fashion-minded treatment: a molded papaya-toned leather footbed and slender tubular thong straps are surrounded by a slightly puffy, color-blocked border in forest green, navy, pink, and white. Made in Portugal, they’re playful without sacrificing the ease that made Joanna buy them in the first place. She found the pair at V.O.D., the boutique next door to her salon in Dallas. “I was shopping, and I just needed another pair of flip-flops that I did not need,” she says with a laugh. 

About the Label:

Isabel Marant founded her namesake label in Paris in 1994, building a distinctly French vocabulary around relaxed tailoring, bohemian influences, and clothes and accessories designed to be worn with ease. Footwear has long been central to the brand, from slouchy boots and barely-there sandals to the wedge sneakers that became a defining fashion phenomenon of the early 2010s.
