Bunny Williams

Bunny Williams is one of the defining voices in American interior design, a tastemaker whose vision of comfort, elegance, and real life has shaped how generations think about living well. After formative years at the legendary firm Parish-Hadley, she went on to build her own celebrated practice, shaping houses from Palm Beach to Connecticut to the Dominican Republic and becoming one of the most trusted names in interiors. A devotee of the 1950s and ’60s Cristóbal Balenciaga, she’s “endlessly inspired by the purity of line and sculptural elegance of that period,” and her own first vintage love was, fittingly, a Balenciaga coat discovered at the Paris flea market. For The SIL, Williams is sharing pieces that reflect her collector’s instincts, including garments from bespoke independent labels like Dovima Paris and Lee Anderson Couture—along with the kinds of textiles she admits are always the hardest to part with: “fabrics you don’t come across every day.” As for personal style philosophy? She’d “much rather be underdressed than overdressed”—a sentiment that perfectly matches her lifelong commitment to ease, confidence, and beautifully chosen clothes.
