About the Item:

This vibrant Falconetto silk tunic dress is a joyful example of the designer's exuberant approach to print. Lily found it while browsing one of her favorite vintage stores, Dolly Python in Dallas, during a work trip. "I came across this silk tunic mini dress," she recalls. "I was pregnant at the time and thought, ooh, this could be a cute little pregnant mini. I really liked the boat neck, and it has little slits on either side." Just a few weeks later, she wore it to a Jimmy Choo event at the Chateau Marmont, pairing it with Miu Miu Lucite heels and a necklace from Mary McFadden's personal collection. "She did her job," Lily says with a laugh. "I got so many compliments. There's grapes, there's a rooster—who knows what's going on in this print? It's psychedelic."

About the Label:

Founded by American artist and designer George Kenneth "Ken" Scott, the label emerged in Milan in the 1960s after Scott first established his textile company, Falconetto. Nicknamed the "Fashion Gardener," Scott became famous for his exuberant botanical prints, bold color combinations, and painterly motifs inspired by flowers, fruits, and the natural world. His joyful textiles were worn by style icons including Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy, and even Christian Dior incorporated one of Scott's prints into a haute couture collection in the 1950s. Today, Ken Scott's vibrant designs remain highly collectible and continue to inspire contemporary fashion, most notably through Gucci's 2021 capsule collection under Alessandro Michele.
