"I've had this for more than 20 years," Sue recalls. "I used to wear it to various art events in New York. It worked because it was kind of funky, which women in the art world love—anything that's a little different, a little avant-garde—and it was black. Obviously New Yorkers are constantly in black." One of her favorite details? "The little mirrored pieces catch the light when you're dancing. Sometimes it almost appears like light is emanating from your dress." Part of Chloé's Resort 2008 collection under Paulo Melim Andersson, the dress paired the designer's signature playful experimentation with swirling corded embroidery and unexpected embellishment. "I'd never seen anything like it—and I'd never remotely seen anything Chloé like it!"
