“At some point in my relationship with Lanvin, these sunglasses were given to me—I believe it was around the opening of one of their stores on Madison Avenue. I was, in a small way, a friend of the house. And now Peter Copping is there, which is lovely, as he’s a friend as well.” The Lanvin “Babe” sunglasses are a clean, rectangular style in creamy white acetate with warm amber-colored lenses. The slightly twisted arms add a bit of character, but overall they’re simple, easy, and very wearable.

About the Label:

Founded in Paris in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, Lanvin is the oldest French couture house still in operation—and notably, one of the few established by a woman. Lanvin built the business herself, expanding from millinery into a full maison shaped by her own sensibility and her relationship with her daughter. That woman-led perspective has remained part of the house’s identity, evolving through later eras including Alber Elbaz’s modern, softly feminine vision, and now under Peter Copping.
