Founded in Florence in 1927 by Salvatore Ferragamo, the house began with the innovative footwear that earned its founder the nickname “shoemaker to the stars.” Ferragamo expanded into leather goods and ready-to-wear while retaining its reputation for Italian craftsmanship, inventive design, and elegant practicality. The Gancini, a distinctive double-hook motif introduced in the 1970s, has since become one of the house’s most recognizable signatures.
